Why is my brass turning black

Over time, exposure to inhalation and moisture will result in black spots on the brass or a dark greasy disc known as tarnishing. If really removed, the tarnish will help more until the brass gets worse and somehow turns completely black. To significantly remove tarnish, stubborn stains and oxidation: Wash in warm soapy water or maybe even a bag of low ammonia water and rinse.
