Paper currency grading is the process of determining the grade or condition of a bank note, one of the key factors in determining its value. A banknotes grade is generally determined by crispness (Rigid, not limp paper), brightness, and depth of color.

Currency is graded on a scale of 1-70, with 70 being absolute perfection and 1 being completely terrible. However, more commonly in the collecting world, currency is referred to by a set of descriptive names.
